Gayle Dubowski Memorial
On Wednesday Feb 20th Crystal and I along with Kyle and Mike Lee traveled to

Several teachers, ministers and classmates shared stories and memories of Gayle. One constant theme during their sharing was that Gayle wanted to make an impact on this world. It was clear by the sharing and the attendance that Gayle had certainly made an incredible impact. A Memorial on Facebook was created and within hours over a thousand people had joined the group. The Facebook page is also filled with memories, pictures, and videos of Gayle.
Perhaps, the most inspiring moment came when Gayle’s parents shared. Joe and Laurel Dubowski were clearly focused not on the death of their daughter, but on the life she lived and the eternal life she will now live. Joe reminded all of us about what really matters, our eternal destiny. The service truly was a celebration of Gayle’s life, faith and salvation.

Ministry In Training Conference

At four o’clock in the morning on February 9th Daniella, Kyle, Mike Lee, Antwan and I made the long trip to Northern Illinois . We were attending the MIT (Ministry in Training) Conference. The MIT Program is designed to raise up leaders who have the dream to be in the fulltime ministry. We prayed on our way there to prepare our hearts for the powerful messages we would hear. Upon arriving Anthony Testa of Dekalb taught a stirring lesson about the importance of leaders having a strong relationship with God by looking at the life of David. Tony Singh taught an awesome lesson on the practicals of leading Bible Talks. He went through the gospel of mark and showed us how to apply aspects of Jesus’ ministry to our Bible Talks. One example was how Jesus would use simple everyday things as a spring board into spiritual discussion, like the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:19-23.
It was great to get those precious nuggets of wisdom from a long time minister like Tony. The sisters heard a great message from Meegan Zillman while Mark Kang from Milwaukee preached to the guys about being trainable and loyal by looking at Paul’s relationship with Timothy. He encouraged us to learn how to be in training mode with 1 Timothy 4:7-8. After the lessons we went out two by two to share our faith on campus while it was snowing. Despite the temperature and snow we met several open people. Prayerfully the people we met will become Christians with the help of our brothers and sisters at NIU. The MIT are always challenging and inspiring, and this one was no different. Dreams of leading for God were stirred in everyone who attended.
